Have you ever heard of a newborn baby weighing 14.6 kilos? Wonder no more. This story is about a kid who has been diagnosed with “Pituitary Gigantism” and he weighs ten times more than a new born baby. Raven or “Ven ven” is a three-year-old kid from San Joaquin, Iloilo. He became one of the wonders of their places after they found out that he has a shoe size of 11 and weighs almost 45 kilograms at age three.
He is diagnosed with Pituitary Gigantism, which is a serious condition caused by a tumor in his pituitary gland secreting excessive amount of growth hormones leading to many changes in his body and in his case, it made him grew more than the normal size of a three-year-old kid.
According to Raven’s mother, due to Ven Ven’s uncommon size weighing, she almost died giving birth to him that the doctors had to perform an emergency Cesarean Section procedure to her for the safety of the both of them.Three in every one million children are born with this kind of sickness.
He is not the first in their family who has this kind of disease because apart from him, he has a grandfather who is unusually tall and an aunt who has a height disorder, Dwarfism.
Despite being the mystery and talk of the town, Raven’s family still considers him normal and far from different with his siblings.
