Fisherman from Palawan found a huge pearl, hides it under his bed for 10 years not knowing how much it cost.
Many people would say that they would buy all the things they ever wanted if ever they win the lottery or earn a lot of money. However, one fisherman decided to hide his treasure under his bed.
A fisherman from Palawan kept the giant pearl under his bed for 10 years, he did not realize that it worth an estimated $100 million and he simply thought that it was just a lucky charm. According to a report from "The Guardian", the pearl who weights about 75 pounds has been found in the coast of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan when the fisherman’s anchor got stuck on the giant clam where the stone was.
According to a local tourism officer named Aileen Maggay-Amurao, the fisherman entrusted the pearl to her because it was too heavy for him to move when he relocated to a different part of the said province.
Upon asking for permission from her nephew, she then handed the pearl over to Mayor Lucilo R. Bayon in the hopes of making it the city’s newest attraction.
However, the pearl is yet to be certified by experts.
“The Puerto Princesa City would likely earn another prestigious title and a record breaker for having the world’s biggest natural giant pearl from a giant clam after being certified for its authenticity,” Maggay-Amurao said.
The current record-holder of the world’s largest pearl was also found in the province of Palawan, the Pearl of "Lao Tzu".
