Ideally, wedding proposals happen only once in a lifetime. This is why people really prepare for it, hoping to make it unique, memorable, and if possible, perfect — after all, it marks the beginning of a “new level” in the lives of couples.
Impressively, this man from West Virginia did away with every cliche wedding proposal, and came up with this one-of-a-kind concept that’s simply impossible to say “no” to. Yes, this man just raised the bar for all the men out there currently planning out a wedding proposal for their significant others.
This is how you do the wedding proposal of a lifetime!
The man first took his girl Lisa out on a metal-detecting hike. You know — setting out to find buried relics and artifacts from past centuries — a really exciting activity for your adventure-loving paramour.
Little did Lisa know that her boyfriend had previously gone on a hike by himself, to bury the engagement ring they are to “chance upon” on their hike together.
Fast forward to the day of their metal-detecting hike, the man excites her girlfriend first by speculating stuff about this signal leading them to a button.
He tells his girlfriend they may have stumbled upon something dating back to the 1800s, possibly a ‘Civil War chest plate or something.’
As he dug deeper and deeper, he prodded his girlfriend, excited as he is, to document their find. ”We gotta document this. This could be the find of a lifetime!”
After some time, the man unearths the box he himself buried (and does a pretty good job pretending he’s seeing it for the first time). It bore Bible verse guides, pointing to the scripture that says, ‘He who finds a wife finds a good thing.’
When the man revealed his biggest surprise — the engagement ring, it was apparent from Lisa’s reaction that the man’s surprise held on until the very end.
She dropped the camera she was using to “document the find” out of surprise and excitement, but the man scooped it up again, this time to document Lisa’s reaction.
